This blog follows us as we add to our family through international adoption from Poland, not Peru. (It's a long story, so feel free to read through the blog.) We spent seven weeks in Poland in the summer of 2015, arriving home on August 28th. We are happy to answer questions you have and would love to be an encouragement, so please feel free to email us from our contact page.

Immigration Approval
Woohoo! Our immigration approval form came in the mail today! (Though the only name you see in the photo below is Mark's, my name is there farther down the paper.) Thanks to all of you who have prayed with us for this. We are very thankful to have it and excited to move forward in this process.
The next step is to get our dossier (doss-ee-ay) together and sent to Hungary for approval. For the last several days, we have been working to get this ready to go. We have most of what we need and will finish collecting the rest of it as quickly as possible. We will be also be talking with our worker at Lifeline after Thanksgiving to determine when we will send it overseas.

YAY! This is wonderful news! I have been following your blog, as my husband and I are also adopting from Hungary! :) We are just shortly behind you guys in process and our immigration paperwork arrived at USCIS this week. :) I am looking forward to hearing how things progress from here! Congrats and praise the LORD!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your own adoption journey, Jana! Great to hear from you: I'd love to keep in touch via email too. we2fosters@gmail.com Are you using Lifeline? .
ReplyDeleteYes, we also are using lifeline. :) They have been wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat age children did your family specify? Did you guys specify a gender?
We are adopting from Hungary. Our home-study states that we will accept a child between the ages of 0 and 8, but Hungarian law counteracts that by also stating that the child must be the youngest in our family. They are preserving the birth order that way, and we really like that. We have requested a girl, and she is probably going to be between 3 and 5 years old. How about you?
ReplyDeleteSame for us. Hungary bound! :) We go for our biometric fingerprints in a week and praying for immigration approval early next year. Obviously our homestudy states the same… age 0-8, but we are hoping for a little younger, 0-5. We don't have a preference for boy or girl - whatever God has in store. This will be our first child.
ReplyDeletelol, somehow I missed that you are also adopting from Hungary, so some of that info was redundant for you. Are you looking to adopt a sibling group or just one child? Where are you all located? (If you prefer not to answer that on here, you can email me, we@fosters@ gmail.com) You are not that far behind us..pretty likely that we will be adopting in a similar time frame. Though it is a little ways in the future still, maybe it would work to meet up sometime.
ReplyDeleteOur home study is approved for two children, so we are waiting to see what immigration says. Typically immigration approves a family the same as their home study. One child or two, we don't really know for sure. We just wanted to be prepared if God is preparing two children to enter our home at this time. Our story is here: www.hiswillhisgloryhisgrace.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYes, we are about two months behind you guys in the process. It has been great for me to be able to read how things have gone for you guys. :) We are working on getting our documents for our dossier ready. Hopefully we will have everything by the time our immigration approval arrives! :)
I looked at your blog. :) Looking forward to seeing your progress. We are waiting on our statements from our doctor and everything will be set for our dossier. We are approved for a maximum of two children as well: we will see what happens.
